How Can I Help My Child Practice What They Learn?
Students in the 6th and 7th grade classes will each receive a workbook outlining the etiquette taught in class. The workbook also lists practice opportunities for students to practice the etiquette outside of class. Practice makes perfect!
What if My Child Will be Absent? Are There Make-Up Classes?
Attendance is important to our program. If your child will be absent, one of the students in class will be without a partner. Please let me know if your student is going to miss a class so I can try to keep our numbers of ladies and gentlemen even with student assistants.
As a courtesy to our cotillion families, if your child is ill, please do not send them to class.
If your student misses a class and you wish for them to attend a make-up class, please contact me ahead of time. We can arrange for them to attend one of my other classes with the same curriculum.
What if My Child Has Food Allergies or Dietary Restrictions?
If your child has a food allergy or dietary restriction please let me know before classes start. We try to have allergy free alternatives but students will need to self monitor when food is served.
What is the Dress Code for Cotillion Classes and Dances?
All Junior Cotillion sessions are a dress-up affair where careful grooming is required.

Does NVJC Have an Inclement Weather Policy?
In the event of inclement weather, we usually follow the public school policy of the county we meet in (in Fairfax County we follow FCPS, in Arlington county we follow APS); however, we will send an email and update our website concerning any changes in schedule.
Priority Registration and early discount
Every spring we offer Priority Registration to our current and alumni families. All students, former students, and their siblings are invited to register before general registration opens at a discounted tuition. If you wish to be informed about priority registration for younger siblings, make sure they are added to your family account so we know when to invite them to register. Or you can email us and we will add their information to your account.
